Health care in Orissa
For providing basic health services to the people throughout the State,
particularly to the rural and urban poor, 158 CHCs/Upgraded PHCs, 157
Block PHCs 1167 PHCs (New), 80 Mobile Health Units (in the 8 KBK
districts), 115 Area Hospitals and 5927 Sub Centres (A.N.M. Centres)
are in operation. Besides, 519 Ayurvedic, 462 Homeopathy and 9 Unani
dispensaries are also functioning in the State.
There are 32 District Headquarters Hospitals (including the Capital Hospital at Bhubaneswar and the Rourkela Govt. Hospital at Rourkela).Besides,there are 21 Sub-divisional Hospitals and 10 Special Hospitals (TB-4, Leprosy - 1, Paediatric - 3, Maternity - 1, Eue - 1) functioning in the State.
